Greek time

In spite of appearances, the Greeks work very hard, although not at the same times as us. They start very early in the morning, have a break in the afternoon for a siesta, and then start again at the end of the afternoon and work until late in the evening. The midday meal is often between 2 and 3 pm, and the evening meal around 10 pm (in consideration of the heat).

Schools

Children go to school from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm. They don’t have any meals at school. Greek education is not of the best, to such an extent that almost all children attend special Institutes in the evening where they take between 2 and 4 hours of extra lessons. The French Institute in Athens, the Goethe Institute and the American Institute offer language classes. There are also numerous private classes for learning music or languages.
